Sales Agent License
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 at time of application for the license
- Complete the Sales Agent course with a minimum final grade of 75%
- Pass the sales agent licensing examination with a minimum final grade of 75% within one year of passing the Sales Agent course. You will be required to obtain an exam authorization request card after passing the course and before taking the exam.
- Complete a Criminal Check
- Submit Application and fees - Application for the sales agent license must be made within one (1) year of passing the licensing examination.
Associate Broker
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 at time of application for the license
- Complete two years practice as an actively licensed sales agent
- Complete the 60-hour Associate Broker Course (plus Documented Field Experience Form) with a minimum final grade of 75%
- Pass the Sales Agent examination administered by Pearson VUE (if this examination was not passed prior to Sales Agent licensure).
- Complete a Criminal Check

Broker
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 at time of application for the license.
- Complete the course the Designated Broker Course with a minimum final grade of 75%. Must apply for the broker license within one calendar year of completing the course AND
- Furnish a resume of full-time experience as a licensed associate broker for the one year (12 months) immediately preceding the date of application for a broker license. Experience shall be recorded on the brokerage summary (revised 10/2007) and supplemented with a resume of related experience, if applicable OR
- Complete one year of practice as a licensed sales agent AND
- Furnish transcript(s) showing completion of 2 years (60 credit hours) in a business degree program, 9 credits of which must be for successful completion of the Sales Agent Course, the Associate Broker Course, and the Designated Broker Course. Application must be made within 5 years of completion of the degree work, with the exception of "Role of the Designated Broker" which must have been completed within one year of the date of application for a broker license

Reciprocity: An equal license may be issued to any person who holds a current and active real estate license in another jurisdiction after meeting the requirements for the license.
Continuing Education
- Assistant Brokers and Brokers must complete 21 hours of Commission approved continuing education for renewal.
- This must include 3 hours for the course designated as the core requirement at the time of renewal.
- All licensees renewing or activating prior to December 31, 2008 must complete EITHER "New Laws and Rules Core Course" OR "What Am I - and Why is it Important? Core Course" to satisfy the core requirement.
- After December 31, 2008, all licensees must complete "What Am I - and Why is it Important? Core Course" in order to renew or activate a license.
Continuing Education Audit- Effective January 1, 2002, licensees are not required to submit evidence of having completed the continuing education requirement when renewing a license. Monthly audits are conducted whereby those licensees audited are required to submit physical evidence that the continuing education requirement was completed on or before the date the license was renewed.
